Discover the secret of success

Discover the secret of success

Welcome to Day 3 of your Strategies for Sanity!

Today’s strategy is:

STRATEGY 3 –  DECIDE WHAT YOU WANT TO DO WITH YOUR EXTRA TIME

It’s important to know why you want more time.  If you don’t know how you’re going to use it, you won’t be motivated to go after it.

What is the difference between you and the most successful people in this world?  Probably they are doing something they love or creating something they believe in.  You see when you are living a life of purpose and passion it doesn’t seem to matter how much money you make.  Often times I say to people that money comes as an effect of doing something you love – it happens naturally, because you are striving towards something you have passion for.

But what if you don’t know what you want to do, or if you’re not sure what your dream is?  For many of us it can be tough to figure it out.  We’re not taught as children to figure out what we love and how to go after it, and many people wander through much of their life or job, unfulfilled and unhappy.

If this is even a little bit like you then don’t despair; you can begin to live your dream.  But first you need to figure out what the dream is.  If you don’t have a destination, you can’t draw a map.  Deciding on your destination is the first step towards making it a reality. What are your hobbies?  How do you spend your spare time? Often times the things you are willing to do without pay are your passions. Give each of your hobbies some thought, and think about whether they are things that you love to do, and that you’d love to make money doing.

What are your talents? It’s been said that we each have at least one gift we’ve been given, and that the true purpose of our lives is discovering that gift, and sharing it with the world.  Discover your gift and you could discover your passion.
Where are you happiest working?  An office, a house, a classroom, the ocean, a garden?  Think about the happiest times of your life, and what you were doing, who you were doing it with, and where you were doing it.  Remembering that you were extremely happy during those times can make you realise why you were happy, and start to fuel some of that fire of passion.
Don’t be satisfied with mediocrity.  Passion fills us with energy, enthusiasm and motivation.  It eliminates suffering, makes us jump out of bed in the morning.  It causes us to live a life full of natural adversity, so we feel alive, energised and happy and fulfilled.  Figure out your passion, and you could change your life.
More tomorrow.  Wishing you a day filled with fun and passion!
