So many of us spend our time being reactive that it doesn’t occur to us to be proactive: especially Mompreneurs.
You see the life of a Mompreneur is usually so taken up with busy-ness, that when our companies expand and demand for our products grow, we’re often caught on the hop. We didn’t plan for growth, so we find ourselves desperately running around trying to keep all the balls in the air, until we can hire new staff or find new systems to cope with the extra workload.
The main reason people don’t plan for growth is simply that they do not have a business plan.
It’s very easy when the money finally starts coming in, to take a well deserved break. To relax a little and enjoy the fruits of your efforts. We don’t want to think about saving the money for planned expansion, or investing it in more staff before we really need them. This is the reason why we started the company right? So we could enjoy our disposable income.
Yet this is one of the biggest reasons many businesses fail.
We don’t think about reinvesting our profits back into the business to create a stronger future. If you want your business to grow you need to think about creating a business plan, and following through with it.
Ask yourself questions like:
Where do I want to be in five years time?
How much money do I want to be making?
How many customers would I like to have?
Don’t take your eyes off the long term goal, for the short term gain. View your initial profits not as money to spend, but as money to make your business stronger.
