Tonight I had an amazing dinner out with one of my best friends, and one of her best friends.
I had had a pretty stressful day and was seriously contemplating cancelling dinner, due to how I was feeling when 6pm rolled around. However, I got my glad rags on, pasted on a smile, and off I went.
And do you know what? I had a brilliant time. Not just brilliant, but really amazing. The chat was great, the food was delicious, and I came away feeling so much better about myself and life in general.
The lesson in all of this?
Don’t wallow in your bad feeling. You have the power to change your state and your body feeling and you are not a victim of your life. All of the things that “caused” me stress today, are effects of all my decisions thus far. I chose my life and I continue to choose it.
Yes, at times life will be very challenging. But it is entirely my decision how I choose to respond to those challenges.
Love your life, live your life and give it meaning and purpose. You’ll be glad you did.
